Amateur to Web Pro with Drupal

What do you like best? I love how easy it is to make webpage changes and uploads using Drupal. I don't have to be a web master to make significant changes to my clients' websites and that is awesome! What do you dislike? It would be nice if there were more internal options for formatting the text while making edits to pages. Things like changing text color, font, and size aren't as readily available which can slow you down. Recommendations to others considering the product I would ...

Drupal for website management

What do you like best? The site is mobile friendly and updates in real time. What do you dislike? There are a lot of menus and clicks required to navigate. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Our conference website is constantly being updated daily and Drupal is a great tool to have updates in real time.

Powerful and flexible

What do you like best? Drupal has 7 main advantages: 1 It's a bit like lego blocks, which makes it very flexible. Drupal has a system of "modules" which you can add to your site to create new functions. For example, the Commerce module lets you add shopping functions, the Membership module lets you do member based services, while the Video modules lets you host video clips. Each of these modules are made up of small modules themselves, which ensures you only turn on the bits of the ...

Great way to put up a site with content management

What do you like best? It is very easy to put up a site. CMS makes it easy to update content without deploying code. It is open source so free and that always helps. It is based on PHP and MySql so anybody with basic programming skills can put up a site. What do you dislike? Nothing to dislike when it's open source and there is a wide community of developers using it. Recommendations to others considering the product Read up on tutorials and install the software to get started. Best is ...

Built to Last

What do you like best? Drupal sites can be built and run like a Ferrari, yet have the reliability of safety of a Mercedes. It's definitely a tool for the organizations that need to stand out from their competition and require high performance. I like the fact there are no yearly licensing fees and there isn't a new version or upgrade every year. What do you dislike? I wish it was easier for marketing people to learn and administrate. I would like to see Drupal focus more on the tools ...

The Power of Drupal

What do you like best? I would have to say that one of my favorite things about Drupal is the ability to creative so many different permission levels. Having various users with access to the back end of our site, it has been amazing to be able restrict access that some users do not need. It has helped keep our content organized and consistent from page to page when users aren't able to create a page for a single paragraph or change the fonts and colors to something different from our ...

Easy to use website editing

What do you like best? I work for a national organization so we have many users and many different websites under the Drupal software. Drupal allows us to have consistent content controlled nationally and updated immediately, but also the ability to edit for local information What do you dislike? Most features can be used by someone who does not know a ton about web editing, but there are some complex features that do require some homework and insight. What business problems are you ...

Using Drupal over the course of 2 years

What do you like best? I like the ease of Drupal UI compared to Wordpress. Creating pages and updating layouts is a breeze. What do you dislike? Drupal forms is the downside of the platform. There is no customization of the forms landing page itself so we cannot accommodate any complicated requests like special backgrounds, image headers, 2-column layouts and embedding forms. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We're using Drupal as ...

Drupal is the leading choice for mid enterprise CMS

What do you like best? It is built with flexibility in mind. There is really nothing that can't be done with an experienced team. If you need a secure website (who doesn't, API integrations, workflow management etc and don't want expensive licence fees then Drupal should be on your list. What do you dislike? You need good Dev team to build sites. Systems like Cohesion.co.uk help but high performing sites need high performing developers (All enterprise platforms worth their salt do ...

Functional Open Source CMS offers a lot of flexibility

What do you like best? With Drupal, our developers are able to make customized modules and nodes that are perfect for our use. There are lots of available prebuilt solutions but most often ours need to be built completely custom, and Drupal allows that. What do you dislike? As a content manager I am not often exposed to the backend. Recommendations to others considering the product Have your developers work with you so you understand the backend more. It's difficult to see things from ...
