Spotsaas Editor’s POV

DocSend is a document management and sharing platform built for sales, marketing, and fundraising teams. Its core strength is tracking and analytics—you can see who opened your documents, how long they spent on each page, and which sections generated engagement. This data feeds directly into follow-up decisions: if a prospect spent 3 minutes on your pricing page, ...Read more

DocSend pros and cons

  • Document sharing and tracking are straightforward with minimal setup.

  • Analytics show who viewed documents, for how long, and which pages received attention.

  • Access controls include password protection and the ability to revoke links at any time.

  • E-signature is built in, covering document signing without switching to another tool.

  • Pricing is high for small businesses and startups, particularly on lower-tier plans.

Great service for tracking document views

What do you like best? I can share a link and know when people open/review my documents What do you dislike? Some people don't want to be 'tracked'. So would be good to turn it off for select people. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I can see who's opened my docs and follow up immediately.

What do you like best? the gmail plug-ins make it easy to integrate in the email work flow What do you dislike? the status bars aren't always as responsible as I'd like What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? organize my public messaging and track who's actually reviewing my material and when, and which parts they care the most about

Great Tool for Salespeople

What do you like best? DocSend is very easy to use, and more importantly, it's easy for the recipient to view documents online. I use it frequently for my large sized presentations in PDF (20 MB that are too large for emailing as an attachment or too inconvenient to send via Dropbox. What do you dislike? Nothing really. It's a simple but powerful tool. Having an app for iOS would be useful as currently they only seem to allow functionality via their website. What problems are you ...

You would have to pry DS out of my cold dead hands.

What do you like best? Transparency into who sees what document, when you are head of Biz Dev or how much time a person really spends on viewing your information, gives great clarity into who is really taking you seriously and who is not. What do you dislike? That people can put in a fake email address and it still shows the document. Recommendations to others considering the product: You don't know what you are missing in your sales team, fundraising or biz dev efforts if you are ...

Great At Sending Docs.... Bad At Everything Else

What do you like best? I like that I can send out documents to people and track them. It also shows you which slides people were viewing and how much time they spent on each slide. This is handy especially for sharing large files that can't be emailed due to size. What do you dislike? For the way we wanted to use it, as a sales presentation platform, it did not work well. They told us AFTER we signed that they didn't actually have a conference line component so we had to pay for a ...

Good product for overview of how your docs are viewed

What do you like best? The way you can see which pages and amount of time per pages that were viewed. I also like the expiration date function to gain "maximum control" over who you are sending your documents to. What do you dislike? Nothing. On receivers'' end I imagine it's a bit invasive and can be off-putting. But it sets good standards in your professional interactions. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you want to have a lot of oversight over your ...

It is a very useful tool to implement because we help you update the documents and handle them

What do you like best? It is an excellent work tool because it is very practical and easy to use, it gives you very dynamic functions that allow you to manage and track all the exact information of who opens the documents and which document they are handling. What do you dislike? I had no problems while using this tool, I would say that the most important thing would be that your website tends to get very slow at times and buying this tool can be a bit expensive. Recommendations to ...

This is an essential product that works well and provides excellent tech support.

What do you like best? I love the ease of use, plus it allows you to track everything, from who opens my document, when they open it, what kind of device and where they are. In addition, electronic signatures are practical in the exemptions that we also send or it is super simple for someone to sign a document What do you dislike? Sometime the website is very slow and I'd like you to have a feature so that people can save the content for later. Also, I'd love for users to be able to ...

Great Tool for Fundraising

What do you like best? The ability to track user links, time in deck and slides they focus on. The automatic deck updating is excellent too. What do you dislike? The price point per user is a bit steep. Wish they had a 3 for $100 users deal. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sharing our investor deck with potential investors.

Control and administration of your documents in the cloud

What do you like best? Document tracking is fairly well designed and implemented within DocSend. You can check when your document is opened, from where it is opened and you can also see which person has opened it at any time, this can serve to have a control of which people are reviewing a specific document, it is especially useful within work teams . Users can also download and save the content, which also gives them the possibility of saving information. It has a very broad ...
