Not perfect, but the best I've found

What do you like best? Confluence is a great tool for project management, collaboration, and workflow productivity. It's easy to see who is on what projects, what work has been done, and what work remains to be done. Confluence has a simple-enough layout, but it's also possible to dive deep into Confluence's more powerful functionalities and integrations. I like that Confluence plays nicely with many of the tools that we use in the office--Lucidchart, Smartsheets, etc. What do you ...

A Social Network for Documentation

What do you like best? Confluence is able to handle things like tagging users, awesome formatting with an easy syntax, and can be used to hold documents of many different types. The interface is relatively easy to use and read. What do you dislike? It's very easy to get too many levels of nesting going in Confluence. At my previous company we considered having someone spend time just curating the information stored on our instance. It can get hairy. Recommendations to others ...

We use it for wiki documentation

What do you like best? Its very easy to edit. User friendly. Can import and export documents very easily. Mainly as part of accounting we upload several excel sheets and its presents the format in a very user friendly manner. What do you dislike? There is nothing that I dislike about the product. I wish there was much tools to embed Microsoft Visio into the application and several other useful plugins. Recommendations to others considering the product Definitely recommend this ...

Robust tool for wiki

What do you like best? Confluence is very powerful as a wiki, allowing us to share documentation and knowledge across departments. The integration with Jira is great too, since we use Jira for project management and time tracking. What do you dislike? The navigation feature is not very intuitive, also whenever we update, we have to reindex the database, or else the content or not searchable. Recommendations to others considering the product It is a great tool for a large user base. ...

Confluence is a great in-house wiki for our company.

What do you like best? I like the structure of Confluence in that it allows for child and parent pages, I also like the integrations with Google Docs. What do you dislike? The permissions were a little difficult to setup. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We're solving internal communication problems.

Our team uses Confluence to organize the projects and resources used by our global team.

What do you like best? Confluence was easily adopted by our global team, and made it even easier to share resources, manage projects and track tasks. The blog and team calendar features are also a great addition. We are now less reliant on outlook, and can access the information we need from anywhere. What do you dislike? I do wish there was a better way to set-up the site navigation feature. Possibly something similar to website navigation. We had to create a work-around as to not ...

Used for over 5 years

What do you like best? Preview has gone a long way and Versioning of the pages What do you dislike? Lack of control to format the pages and interface Recommendations to others considering the product Do not use it other than it's intended use. Confluence is not a CRM or intranet. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Providing internal co-workers with marketing information. All content can be stored in one place.

Too robust, not user friendly

What do you like best? Confluence is very very robust. It's a collaborative wiki with a lot of functionality. What do you dislike? The user interface is not intuitive. It's frustrating to use and it becomes a dumping ground for information to the point where you can't find anything. Training is a must (before it's too late. If you don't learn what to use it for, or how to use it, it will become a jungle of lost information. Most people in our company despise Confluence because it's ...

Jira Confluence

What do you like best? This is a great collaboration tool between engineering, product and UX. We are distributed, so this helps create transparency across teams. What do you dislike? The parent:child relationship is hard to navigate. Sometimes I can't find what I'm looking for. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We have seen better collaboration and alignment on open issues and progress during our development sprints. It also ...
