What is ClickHouse?
ClickHouse is a columnar analytical database that also supports vector similarity search through distance functions and approximate nearest-neighbour indexes, letting teams run vector retrieval alongside large-scale analytical queries in one system. It is not a purpose-built vector database, and for pure similarity workloads a dedicated engine will usually be faster to operate. Its argument is consolidation: if the analytical data already lives here, the embeddings can too.
