CircleCI pros and cons

  • Provides a user-friendly interface with unique features like insights for workflows, job branches, and commit history.

  • Free tier includes substantial credits, easy to integrate into projects, and allows SSH to resolve issues directly in the build machine.

  • Offers easy interface for pipeline creation using YAML files, facilitating automation and progress tracking.

  • Excellent documentation and ease of integration with other technologies for users transitioning from DevOps/Sysadmin roles.

CircleCi

What do you like best? The configuration was the only thing we had to do. After that It just runs and reports back to us via github seamlessly. It was very easy to write a config file and once it is in the repo it just works every time. The only tricky part was setting up custom env variables in the build... but even that was not hard What do you dislike? From time to time there are hiccups where Circle processes will just crash and run out of memory. It gives us the false impression ...

Best CI on the market

What do you like best? Clear breakdowns, trace-ability, and configuration options. Integrates well and covers most use cases. What do you dislike? Documentation always feels a little behind, and like it's lacking examples. Mixed information online, so its hard to tell what's definitive. Recommendations to others considering the product: Keep your configs simple to start. Don't try to overload your CI step with too much responsibility. Leverage parallelization early on if you can. ...

Versatile, resourceful, insightful, and overall amazing!

What do you like best? I just love the whole aspect of being able to spin up different type of nodes very easily with different configurations and docker makes things easy so implementing with circleCI makes it even easier, we use CircleCI at my company, we integrate it with GitHub and cant merge a PR until all unit tests pass! What do you dislike? I honestly don't have any complaints, but maybe some more documentation, but like examples, more real world examples and custom / weird ...

CI/CD made simplehas never been easier and dependable

What do you like best? CircleCI is integrated with BitBucket which makes it easy to use. It works with BitBucket Pipelines which makes build and test automatic. What do you dislike? CircleCI, for a total beginner can be a bit intimidating to use. But with proper introduction and familiarization, it can be a very powerful tool in developing software fast. The cost per user can be reviewed as it is a bit pricy. And its user interface could be improved as it is not as user friendly at ...

Simple configuration

What do you like best? I find it very easy to set up project to run and deploy in circleci workflows. I like that every job runs inside a container and it's easy to configure and run additional containers need for the job. What do you dislike? I feel the UI can be improved. For the way I use it I am only interested in workflows and not individual jobs. For some reason I get to the jobs page quite often. Recommendations to others considering the product: Just try it. I remember our ...

CircleCI is very easy to use and to configure

What do you like best? It not only provides linux container but also windows instance. What do you dislike? Sometimes it will take a long time to provision windows instance and it will cause my CI/CD pipeline crashing. Recommendations to others considering the product: Much easier to configure and have a lot of features which are not included in other CI/CD tools. Also CIrcleCI has a forum where all users discuss the strategy how to use circleci properly. What problems are you ...

Thoughts on CircleCI after 7 months of use at company

What do you like best? The easy integration with GitHub. We got continuous integration up and running in a couple of minutes. What do you dislike? The new UI is not intuitive to me yet. I am not sure what a pipeline is compared to a job/task? ... Or is it called a "workflow"? Recommendations to others considering the product: Make sure it integrates well with the products you are using. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are ...
