CircleCI pros and cons

  • Provides a user-friendly interface with unique features like insights for workflows, job branches, and commit history.

  • Free tier includes substantial credits, easy to integrate into projects, and allows SSH to resolve issues directly in the build machine.

  • Offers easy interface for pipeline creation using YAML files, facilitating automation and progress tracking.

  • Excellent documentation and ease of integration with other technologies for users transitioning from DevOps/Sysadmin roles.

  • Audit features are not as robust as other enterprise-grade providers, and some users found the setup to be complex initially.

CI made easy

What do you like best? How easy it is to include CircleCI on a project What do you dislike? That CircleCI lives outside our cloud infrastructure What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It would be great if we could run an internal version of CircleCI to access private services, but the benefit of easy and uninvolved testing and deployment scripts via CircleCI has been great

Fast build / deploy, high build and test flow customization level

What do you like best? Build speed, containers, parallel builds What do you dislike? UI sometimes has bugs and small performance issues. Recommendations to others considering the product: Nice product and good pricing. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I used it as a CI/CD system for my commercial development and deployments on GCP.

Great service with a lot of flexibility; parallelization is great

What do you like best? The parallelization is great. You configure your yml file with a lot of prebuilt docker images and specify how many containers it can use. Very intuitive. Also newly added support for Windows VMs is a very welcome and long needed addition. Now all major platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows) are supported. What do you dislike? The performance plan where you can run unlimited builds is quite pricey, they count both your active users and the amount of resources you ...

Great CI Experience

What do you like best? - Very easy to install and setup. - Enough memory to build your project. - Significantly faster build process. - Integrates great with cloud services. - Exceptional failure analysis - you can easily tell why a build/deployment pipeline failed. - Docker based Support is amazing. What do you dislike? - Documentation can be confusing. - Most of the build time is spent spinning up the environment - that can be made more efficient and faster. - ...

Effective tech, lacks transparency

What do you like best? Nice web interface, good integration with GitHub, is mostly batteries included. What do you dislike? Changes to their API are often compatibility breaking, little transparency on performance considerations, slow to respond to feedback and fix known issues. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Continuous integration workflows for many projects with time-saving configuration re-use. Good self-service with web interface.

Nice experience

What do you like best? It is easy to use Documentation is good. What do you dislike? There is no support for outside git repos. We are using codebasehq.com for some of our repositories, and we can not use circileci for them. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We had a jenkins instance. It was old but working. One day, it is hacked. It is always better to use a service rather than maintaining a server.

Nice interface, very easy to follow and create concurrent workflows

What do you like best? Creating concurrent workflows. Ease of use What do you dislike? There was one troubling UI thing where it was tough to click on the failing segment of the workflow. Recommendations to others considering the product: Great product What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Just running builds for PRs, running test suites and making sure nothing is broken.
