CircleCI pros and cons

  • Provides a user-friendly interface with unique features like insights for workflows, job branches, and commit history.

  • Free tier includes substantial credits, easy to integrate into projects, and allows SSH to resolve issues directly in the build machine.

  • Offers easy interface for pipeline creation using YAML files, facilitating automation and progress tracking.

  • Excellent documentation and ease of integration with other technologies for users transitioning from DevOps/Sysadmin roles.

CircleCI has helped our company so much

What do you like best? It streamlines our deployment and definitely simplifies the process for us. Helps us figure out where we can improve our deployment if needed. What do you dislike? The UI was initially confusing so it takes a while to get used to navigating around the interface. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It has sped up our deployment process while minimizing any opportunities for user errors. We can spend more time ...

Easy to configure and get running

What do you like best? For any new user it is very easy to get started. CircleCI provides an example for just about any language/framework and allows everyone to get going quickly with the option of highly customised workflows and jobs. What do you dislike? No Docker layer caching without paying a premium fee on top of the plan we already pay for. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use CircleCI for all of our testing and deployments ...

Great CI for Bitbucket

What do you like best? I like the fact that it is stress free and it comes with a default YAML configuration that you can plug in and use. It gives room for scaling as well. What do you dislike? Speed of spunning up containers and running time is quite slow and makes work less productive when a ton of people are building. Recommendations to others considering the product: Increase build time for containers What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

This made my dev life easy.

What do you like best? The continuous deployment process with circle CI is easy to setup with GitHub . You can have the different pipelines configured for production and staging environments and circle manages them without any trouble . What do you dislike? Need to manually change the configs whenever I update my dev environment like tool version change or coco pods version change or fast lane version change. If it can automatically update its configs based on my project settings, that ...

Overall its a good service, with minor things that could be better.

What do you like best? Overall is a simple, well documented and rapid way to make your continuous integration. Also I like the User experience, its very intuitive to me. The integration with github was awesome, so we dont need to create more accounts. Another thing I like its the possibility to rebuild from the last step it failed, so we dont have to get all the way from the start. What do you dislike? We are using for ci/cd and we are having problems to roolback deploys, we want a ...

Easy to navigate, even for a QA newbie

Recommendations to others considering the product: Do it! What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Basic QA and bug statuses are easy to track, and I can easily monitor the progress being made by other engineers

Solid set of features, but reliability has taken a hit recently

What do you like best? Very flexible, lots of built in build tools, very tight integration with GitHub What do you dislike? Managing multiple orgs isn't the smoothest experience. There have been A LOT of outages lately. It makes it hard to recommend an otherwise awesome build tool. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? CI builds and tests. Their performance plan dramatically sped up our slow builds when it's working.
