CircleCI pros and cons

  • Provides a user-friendly interface with unique features like insights for workflows, job branches, and commit history.

  • Free tier includes substantial credits, easy to integrate into projects, and allows SSH to resolve issues directly in the build machine.

  • Offers easy interface for pipeline creation using YAML files, facilitating automation and progress tracking.

  • Excellent documentation and ease of integration with other technologies for users transitioning from DevOps/Sysadmin roles.

Easy CI setup

What do you like best? Automatically deploy depending on which branch is pushed to; easy integration with Github to ensure tests pass before merge What do you dislike? Finding some settings in the UI can be difficult What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Requiring QA and unit tests to pass prior to merge to prevent regressions; not having to deploy anything manually

CircleCI - Easy, Fast, and Well-Documented Setup and CI for Small & Large Business

What do you like best? The new UI for CircleCI is user-friendly. The documentation is easy to use and you can learn the tool very quickly. I love the fact that you can do direct integration with Git and other tools without having to do a lot of research. Also, security is great with CircleCI with it's management of environment variables and secrets. When tests fail, you do see the tests that failed, with their names and the top-level error. This makes it very easy and quick to debug ...

Continuous Integration a FE dev can understand!

What do you like best? I'm a front end dev and find that most devop things stump me. CircleCI is easy to understand and easy to setup. I've already suggested it to my old coworkers because it's simple and easy to use. What do you dislike? I don't dislike anything, to be honest. It's worked perfectly fine for me and has provided me with everything I need for continuous integration. Recommendations to others considering the product: Use it, it works and it's easy to setup and use! I ...

Makes CI/CD easy!

What do you like best? Circle is incredibly easy of use, I was ready to go in under an hour! What do you dislike? Switching between old projects that don't have pipelines configured and new jobs on v2 is a bit of a break in experience What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Before CircleCI, I was stuck using our company's old version of a self hosted Jenkins. New projects took hours to configure. The first time I tried out Circle, I was ...

Very Productive CI System

What do you like best? I don't want to manage my own CI server, and CircleCI has proven very effective in building awesome pipelines. What do you dislike? CircleCI is in the middle of a UI update, and switching between the UI systems is a little cumbersome. Recommendations to others considering the product: Easier to use than Jenkins, similar to Gitlab, awesome stuff! What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Continuous integration, ...

I am a software QA engineer that uses CircleCI to check tests before releasing our product.

What do you like best? I really enjoy the workflow layout. Helps keep track of every piece in the deployment process. What do you dislike? Sometimes, the page will finish loading but will not show the workflows layout, like it doesn't render or something. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Moving very fast in a development team means we break a lot of tests. CircleCI shows us this before checking the program manually.

Simple and Reliable

What do you like best? CircleCI helps to increase the speed at which me and my team can release new updates. CircleCI gives us more faith that the updates that we push out our customers will be functioning correctly. The UI is easy to use, and the integration with GitHub makes it simple to address problems that do arise. What do you dislike? At times, CircleCI can be annoying, but only because it is forcing us to do the work that we don't want to do but really should be. Flaky tests ...
