Is Chef Infra suitable for a small team?
we're a small team of just 8 people, and I'm wondering if Chef Infra would be overkill for us, or if it can actually help with our infrastructure automation.

Depends on your use case. Chef Infra is designed for small to large enterprises, so it can certainly be utilized by smaller teams. If you have complex infrastructure needs or plan to scale, it might be a good investment for automating configuration management.
