It helped me a lot

Not working properly

The website is not working for 3 days now. Everytime intry to open the page it keeps refreshing the page every seconds, which means i cant do anything ! So i'm paying for a service i can't get which is quite disappointing! Except that, i was quite happy with the learning methode (when it was working the first days)

The learning methods are great.

At the moment Busuu is not working at all here in German and I have already paid for it! The website is flickering and I am unable to access my lessons. I would appreciate it if some one could let me know what is happening or perhaps give me a solution. Otherwise, when the website has worked, for the first month when I joined, I have found it to be an excellent method of language learning. However, I think Busuu could include grammar lessons as well.

fun but not challenging enough

the exercises are quick and fun so there is motivation to do them, but they are not challenging enough. you do not really need to learn it properly to pass the exercise. in the quizzes i sometimes get the same question three times. they are mostly recall questions with prompted answers, so it doesn't really test much. I also hate the one where i have to fill in the few missing letters in the sentence or word. I do not like that i cannot add to my vocabulary list from the tablet application. ...

Great way to practice a language you are learning

I am enjoying using busuu to improve my Arabic. The method exposes you to vocabulary and sentences for real situations and conversations you are likely to encounter. I am personally getting a lot out of the course because I already know some Arabic. I would find it hard as a first time learner since the course dives right into complex sentences without building on how they are structured. If you have an innate knack for languages you can pick it up as you move along but I would need more ...

Busuu, the one stop, fantastic programme to study a foreign language!

Since I've discovered the Busuu website in 2010, I haven't regret one minute of becomming a member of the excellent language programme Busuu offers. It is now 4 years later and I still love studying with Busuu. I made friends with the most amazing people all over the world through Busuu and will as long as it is possible keep on studying foreign languages on Busuu.

Good service; helpful but not comprehensive instruction.

Busuu offers some great features by connecting native speakers with language learners. I love getting feedback on written submissions and audio recordings and it is fun to correct others' posts as well. However, there are some gaps in the sequence of learning, such as the exclusion of any units focusing on verbs in much of the beginning course. Busuu would not work well as a stand-alone resource for language learning, but is a good way to augment more comprehensive resources like a book or ...

Improvement Possible

Suggest an on-line dictionary to complement the phrases in your lessons - perhaps similar to Yabla. Sometimes translations of phrases do not explain individual words and translations of commonly spoken phrases, sometimes distort literal meanings. Additionally, the server/s for Busuu.com seem to be slow sometimes. Perhaps an improvement in the servers is necessary.
