Busuu Reviews in October 2026: User Ratings, Pros & Cons

So far so good

I haven't gone very far or learned enough to carry on a conversation with anyone. Very good so far. Would be nice to chat live with others. I can't afford to upgrade and wish you would stop asking :)

Miss the old version

I have already written my detailed opinion around 1 year ago in 4 short messages (since the character number of the feedback messages was very limited), when the busuu website was changed. Although nothing has changed since then, here are again the main points I am not satisfied with, but first I am going to start with the positive points. I like the overall concept of busuu, the structure of the lessons: new vocab (picture, word, context), the text + gap filling exercise and finally the ...

Acknowledgements

Busuu met in 2011 and loved the place since I enrolled and have already recommended it to several friends. Since 2011 there have been several changes and I only have to thank what he does for all who wish to learn a new language and children and tribe to help.

Quite good in general

I have been a Premium Member of busuu for a little less than two years. The language I've been learning is Turkish. Generally speaking I find Busuu a good way of learning English, especially as regards vocabulary, listening and writing. And it's fun the way vocabulary is taught. Writing is quite good too: you write about a topic, submit it and then someone corrects your mistakes. The listening-reading part is quite good too, it's an opportunity to listen to native Turkish speakers and ...

Declined over time

I joined busuu over 3 years ago and when I first joined I was a daily user because everything was very simple to use, the interface was user-friendly and it was a great easy free way to learn. I worked through the modules in order. Then all of the website changed totally and it's now much more difficult to navigate through, the modules that I'd previously completed are now showing as incomplete because you've added much more "premium" tabs to the website and it seems to be a lot more ...

What Busuu means to me.

I have used Busuu for a very long time. I find it immensely interesting but challenging (for a 76 year old). To me it is a very thorough and enjoyable teaching tool. I have always found the team very helpful when I have come across difficulties and they have been relatively quickly resolved. Through Busuu I have come to know many people and made lasting friendships. The one weakness I see is that some (only some) of those who correct my exercises are not always proficient in their own ...

A review from an owner of 6 years old account on Busuu.com

My learning experience with busuu.com started more than 6 years ago. I've seen a lot of language learning communities but there exist no better community, than Busuu. Busuu was perfect already and all these years it was becoming better and better. Easy to learn - check. Active community - check. Free help of native speakers during your learning - check. Low subscription prices - check. I strongly advise you Busuu, if you want to learn with simplicity and fun.
