I completed a few lessons on the free version of Busuu and liked it so much that I immediately purchased a 12 month subscription. I have tried two other very popular language learning apps and found Busuu to be superior, as it uses practical phrases and explains the grammar and pronunciation of the words as well as providing audio. It feels a lot more polished than other apps. I find the study plan on the plus feature is very good for encouragement, even giving an estimate of percentage ...

I completed the A1 level in Spanish

I completed the A1 level in Spanish. I found the grammar explanations as well as the differerences between the various types of Spanish. A little could be done with that with French by mentioning Belgian, Swiss, or Canadian différences, though it could only be limited, understandable.

Good product but remember your subscription renewal

Renewed another year with no reminder and Busuu refused my refund request (I made a refund request on the day of the renewal) *Update* OPEN A PAYPAL DISPUTE AND YOU WILL GET A REFUND. Don't give up if you're in a similar situation! Product was quite good better than Duolingo for serious learners

Not a learning app for what I wanted.

It seems an app with no connectivity between the lessons. Too many things are locked. When I use the talking into the machine part for Italian it never recognises what I say over and over again so just gets frustrating. I could never use it to actually learn enough to speak properly with all these issues. If the basic app is not good then I would not pay for a premium version of an app when there are so many apps out there.

The first 10 lessons were fantastic! Particularly because of explanation of how the Chinese characters can be understood as combinations of more elementary symbols. The ability to toggle between pinyin , English and Chinese characters is very useful. Would like more on building of Chinese characters, their historical development as it helps to remember the characters.
