Busuu Reviews in October 2026: User Ratings, Pros & Cons

Best language app out there

Learning with Buusu is really easy and fun. It explains grammar, pronunciation, and cultural tips so that you learn relevant aspects of the language and can immediately implement the language when traveling or meeting new people. The lessons are easily digestible and logically follow each other. I also love the social aspect- recording yourself and getting correction from real people.

Awesome app. Fun, effective and educational.

Busuu is awesome, no complaints. I've tried many apps and programs, and I believe it's the best one out there. I'm learning German on Busuu and it's been fun, effective and educational. One thing I'd like them to do, though, is to translate the German to English. On some instances, it doesn't translate it so I have to go to a translating app to translate. Also, there aren't many teachers to choose from the live, online Busuu Teachers. There is also not much detail on what materials they ...

Demasiada gramática

I have improved my Spanish using Busuu and gave it 4-stars only because as a casual user I found the program emphasizing grammar lessons a bit too much.

Great app that has kept me motivated

Great app that has kept me motivated to learn. One thing I'd like to see is friend suggestions. You are suggested a group of people when you set up your account, but if you skip this step it then becomes harder to add people to send your exercies to.

Good app - liked the variety of languages and skills

Good app; liked having access to multiple languages especially when I was travelling a lot to different countries for work. Good variety of types of practice too. Had been a while since I studied French formally so also appreciated up to date vocab, e.g. about using the internet.

TERRIBLE

crappy people have been stalling the systems for 20 days for crappy refunds horrible site

Upsetting subscription renewal - Updated

The subscription is auto renewed at the time of its renewal without sending you a reminder or an email before to give you time if you really want to renew or you want to cancel your subscription, and it takes your money to renew without your permit. Even when I contacted the support team, they do nothing. This really ruined anything good in the application. IT IS A TRUST ISSUE. ************************* UPDATE: After receiving the reply from Team Busuu, they refunded me the renewal cost. So ...

Not nearly enough material nor anything…

Not nearly enough material nor anything beyond the B2 level. Why not include some interesting audio with Italian and English subtitles; look at MH's Easy Italian Reader for Ideas. The inflated fluency ratings are an insult to the intelligence as are the pep rally style comments at the end of each exercise.
