I wish you would not tie in learning to speak Japanese with writing Japanese. All I wanted was to speak. Learning to write is more than I can do.

Good app and great customer care service

I’m updating this review after having interaction with customer care. Ewe looked into my complaint and refunded the money promptly. The main reason I cancelled the subscription because of lack of time. Otherwise it’s a good app to learn the language including spoken to exercises. —— Be careful with the sneaky auto-renewal policy. I really appreciate Busuu

I really appreciate Busuu. Sometimes it is too fast, expecially in the beginning, but it helps and supports a lot.

Good, but could be better

The structure of the courses themselves are very good, split into mostly interesting topics, and the dialogues in every chapter are a welcome addition. However, when it comes to reviewing what you've already learned, Busuu is mediocre at best. The structure of the flashcards is really bad (it always shows you the image with the word in the foreign language, so there's zero challenge in trying to figure out what it means) and the exercises are very repetitive and easy. A sound approach to teaching a language

In contrast to Duolingo, Busuu actually teaches the language. However, just like Duolingo the exercises are repetitive. It is disappointing that voice recognition is not used. The practice of native-speaker correction is of dubious value. It is tiresome. Native speakers seldom understand the grammar of their own language.
