"A cheaper AutoCAD alternative with extensive API"

What do you like best about BricsCAD? Runs on Windows and Linux (and OSX has been promised for some time). DWG native compatibility. Very familiar for users of older AutoCAD versions (as they deliberately did not attempt to add the Ribbon interface). The focus is on using BricsCAD as a platform for CAD solutions, through an extensive API (C++, Lisp, VBA…).
