Bill.com pros and cons

  • Automates invoicing, payments, and accounts payable processing, saving time.

  • Interface is easy to navigate for most users.

  • Integrates with financial software and tools.

  • Transparency in payment processes, with notifications and email updates for tracking invoices and payments.

Bill is fairly easy to operate

Bill is fairly easy to operate. Would be great to get an updated training on all the features that we are probably not using or do not know about.

Great for small to midsize businesses on AP side

Great for small to midsize more simple companies on the AP side of operations. It has become slower and slower and the OCR is hit or miss. There is minimal customization and rules to automate coding if you use a lot of dimensions. AR is very very limited. It works and we utilize to receive electronic payments when needed, but cannot use it for regular invoicing due to limitations. The Spend & Expense is also very limited when compared to competitor systems. It would be great if they ...

Too complicated

Had some trouble going through the automated bot VA and finally a phone call. Well, 3 or 4 calls dropped because of a poor connection or some other- I was ultimately able to get the information I was seeking but it took a ridiculous amount of time. I have 2 case numbers I don't even know what for.

How to easily acess information. Also, your inquiry questions are dumb.

Not easy to use.

Clunky and a long way to go

Clunky and a long way to go, Bill.com definitely is not interested in making it easy for me to communicate my live-time issues nor to obtain real-time help in making my life more time-effective while using the platform. The process to get ahold of someone frankly is unacceptable given the cost of subscription. Not sensing the support value at all. The system is not intuitive when it comes to understanding the real needs of AP

Crazy and unpredictable fee structure, poor searchability, AI is unhelpful.

Used to be a solid platform, but has fallen into scammy and extractive practices. Charging my vendors 3% on "early pays" for things I have set up to be paid, after "adjusting" my payout timeline from 2-3 days to 5-10 days on ACH. Changing the "expedite fee" from flat to 1% of invoice, on electronic payments. Adjusting my payment window AFTER I set up payments, so promises made to my vendors fall through. Search is BAD. You have to search by each text string, part of the name, if there are ...

General Info

The way one enters information seems archaic. One should be able to type and tab and that's not an option either.

Not great but best I have found

Overall, I haven't found anything better than bill.com for our AP and AR (and boy have I looked). It does what we need but receiving payments and the sync with QB needs some work. Also some of the defaults are frustrating - like when they try and force you to use virtual card payments.

We love Bill.com

We love Bill.com. We have used it in house as well as for clients for years. We love the approval process as well as the document management system. 2 issues - One is there seems to be hiccups with the app. Sometimes a bill has to be paid online instead of using the app because there is an unknown error. Also, I wish there was an easy way to change from the card payment option to direct deposit for a vendor. Once the card option is selected you cannot go in to the vendor payment options ...
