Misleading

Made a point of making donations on a particular date and pushed my budget so that I could maximize the match amounts beneficiaries were entitled to according to the website. My donation receipt showed the wrong date and no match amount, so I contacted customer service. Their first response confirmed that my donations had been matched. Terrible service. Does not provide tax receipts. I was audited and they did not accept Benevity BS

Benevity marks donation "completed" and silently fails to deliver in >14 months

Benevity is a company that provides charitable donation-management platforms for corporations (eg. Nike, Coca-Cola, Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc). They do (1) verification of charitable organisations and (2) handle money transfers to them. Money transferring service from Benevity is very bad: - slow (best case 2-3 months, worst >1 year) - not transparent: no full transactions history (initiated-sent-rejected/resent-received), no transaction breakdown (sent amount, fees, received amount) - ...

They don't provide proper receipts

They don't provide proper receipts, so employees are out thousands because they can't claim on their taxes. And worse they make it sounds like they do, which means you could end up being guilty of tax fraud which is what happened to me.

Very useful medium for charity work / social responsibilities.

PROS: Keeps me on track of my community service time, lets me manage my personal contributions and a great help on identifying the right match for the funding. CONS: None, it's working very well in my organization.
