Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

  • Lacks robust customization options for advanced users, particularly in file storage and integrations, which can limit flexibility.

  • Minimalist feature set may lack advanced capabilities like complex reporting or kanban customization that power users might expect.

Decent Project Management Website

What do you like best? Basecamp is a decent project management website. It is pretty good nonetheless, however, there are the downfalls as there always are. At Retro Host LLC we used Basecamp before switching over to Trello for a few reasons which can be found in another section of this review. Back to what I like best about Basecamp, it has a clean design, a fast website, and it is fairly easy to use. I like how we, at Retro Host LLC, are able to create teams and certain projects and ...

Meh" Project Management

What do you like best? With Basecamp I am easily able to create message boards as well as comment on them, integrate it with other programs like outlook and calendars which is nice, as well as upload any media that I have to post on it. To be very honest, it is essentially just like a forum as it is just a bunch of posting and commenting, though more of like an FAQ forum or help forum which I commend them for. Not only that, but they have a platform for an online group chat that allows ...

Meets Simple Task Management Needs

What do you like best? It's easy to see where work is in the process because you can view what your teammates are working on, and the search functionality is pretty robust. I do really like the calendar. What do you dislike? I wish it was much more customizable. It offers very basic functionality; there isn't anything for time tracking, the reminders are only available via email vs an internal messaging system, and we can't do anything with recurring tasks. It's essentially a ...

Very Simple PMS

What do you like best? The overall interface of the tool is very clean and simple to use. What do you dislike? It's almost impossible to search in a meaningful and relevant way. There's no way to see what projects are still "open" or have been "closed". In that sense, it's more of a message board, rather than a project management system. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you're looking for a tool to send messages to specific groups of people, it will ...

Basecamp is not as full-featured as I would like.

What do you like best? The simplicity of the coming up emails and how the systems shows you what needs to be done. What do you dislike? Too simple, not feature-rich. Would like to see more collaboration features and chat features like slack or trello. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Project management and teamwork.

Convienient way to manage employee tasks!

What do you like best? As a Executive Assistant I was able to help the Executive Director know who was assigned what task and how long it took for them to get it done. What do you dislike? It was somewhat challenging to get some of our older people to download the app and sign up. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Going to every meeting and not remembering what had been assigned or what needed to get done.

Not bad but wouldn't choose this software possible.

What do you like best? I can upload SharePoint links to the basecamp and have team members to easily access to other files. Able to make several different subgroups and collaborate with just project members. What do you dislike? It doesn't have a good project management features. It required to pay extra money to add some 3rd party features. It would be nice to have those features built-in. We were paying for the Basecamp itself, but our budget didn't allow us to have extra money to ...

My Experience With Basecamp

What do you like best? Basecamp is a great resource to manage everything you need for projects and jobs. I personally utilized Basecamp while training for a new position and it was very handy. Basecamp made it easy to access training videos and activities. It also is one single hub for all of the training documents, materials and videos. It even redirected to Youtube in some cases which was extremely convenient. What do you dislike? I don't have many dislikes for Basecamp. As said ...

Basecamp is an awesome team collaborative hub

What do you like best? This is the original task management software and they’ve recently made it even better. I have fallen back in love with the interface and power of this team management tool. Love it, If you are a larger organization and you want to send them money to be able to manage all the projects that you have going on, Basecamp is there for you. What do you dislike? It can make some improvements in adding in reporting features that give you better insights into a number ...
