Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

Love Basecamp!

What do you like best? It's great to be able to add Camps and customize the user list for each Camp. We have camps for work, personal, specific projects, etc. Keeps things very organized and moving forward. What do you dislike? I know I haven't discovered all the features, so that's on my 'to do' list. Not a dislike, just taking time to learn all the tricks. Recommendations to others considering the product Great for team building. What business problems are you solving with the ...

Innovative, simple and user friendly

What do you like best? Having trialled a number of other web-hosted project management services, we found BaseCamp to be very user friendly, This was especially important to us as we have a number of non-technical users who, whilst familiar with software such as Facebook, aren't necessarily able to get on with business systems. BaseCamp sits in a happy middle ground, with great social features such as Campfire and 'Hey!' notifications, but robust project management tools in the 'to-do' ...

Product Review

What do you like best? Really simple interface which creates a seamless communication thread. The best thing I like about Basecamp is that there is a visual calendar for all parties to see. What do you dislike? Sometimes when uploading files it can get glitchy and I have to completely delete the whole project and start over. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Keeps our team organized and efficient.

Basecamp is Definitely a Great Resource

What do you like best? The ability to have multiple projects going at the same time. It is really helpful - particularly in the industry of having multiple clients at once. I also like that teams have the ability to assign to-dos to one another. What do you dislike? There is no option to have a calendar within a project - only a calendar for an entire account. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It allows for teams of multiple ...

Basecamp is a project management tool - for large or small teams - that works.

What do you like best? Basecamp allows teams, who might not be working in the same geographic location, to work together seamlessly and effortlessly. I use Basecamp both at home and at work. I find that I may decide to use the program at home to keep track of shopping needs, home repair, or freelance work. At work, I use Basecamp for everything - it is the easiest way to keep track of your team's priorities and your own tasks quickly, easily, and within an environment which utilizes a ...

BaseCamp for Business

What do you like best? Overall, I like the organization of the site; it allows the administrator to partition different sections (e.g. based on department and give permissions based on the user. It is easy to use and the site interacts well with other software (e.g. Google Docs. What do you dislike? There are a lot of moving parts. Formatting could be simpler; the appearance of a timeline would be nice. While it is easy to use, the more files that get uploaded, the harder it is to ...

At this time I don't have any recommendations. Recommendations to others considering the product Different individuals can work on one project effectively remotely. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The inability to meet frequently to coordinate and plan an ...

Convenient tool, but unfortunately people loose interest and communicate through emails mostly

What do you like best? That you can upload PDFs. We can use it for uploading papers and sometimes graphs that we discuss. What do you dislike? Daily recaps are sometimes annoying. Some things can be better structured. Also the posts consume alot of screen space so you have to scroll alot. The search tools can be improved. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Collation during research projects, paper writing. We upload various ...

Great for inter-company teams, across town or across the globe

What do you like best? We've used Basecamp with clients and with partners, and it seems to work for every team member, regardless of platform. I like the fact that there's a designated place for every type of communication, so I don't have to scroll through messages or perform a search to find the item I need. What do you dislike? It took me a little while to figure out how to share what I posted with specific people. Seems the posting and sharing steps could be combined. What ...
