Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

Ease Work Flow Issues with Basecamp!

What do you like best? It's laid out well and very easy to navigate back and forth between different projects. What do you dislike? Scrolling to the bottom on a long list of comments. Perhaps put newest updates at top instead of bottom. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It's a very easy and direct way to communicate with people that are offsite.

Basecamp review

What do you like best? This tool allows for easy documentation of communication across teams and with clients. We typically use Basecamp as an external facing project management tool. What do you dislike? This tool doesn't have any of it's own Project Management tools. If we want to create a timeline or add a GANTT chart, we need to build them outside and add to it. There is a to-do list and calendar, but nothing more than that in the way of project management. Recommendations to ...

Nothing would get done without it

What do you like best? Reminder emails sent to team once a task is created, shared calendar, timestamped logs of all activity. Everything! What do you dislike? File size limits are easy to max out when we have creative team uploading PSDs. Hate having to delete old files since I love having the history of the project all in one place. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Project management is easier, team collaboration so much ...

Keep Your Team Together and Moving Forward

What do you like best? Basecamp's interface is easy to pick up even for new users; within a matter of moments a new user can understand the intuitive design and start to contribute to group projects. It's easy to loop in people on your team as well as others, and you can attach and share various aspects and drafts of a project. What do you dislike? One of the reasons to use Basecamp is to create a hub for exchanges about projects, thus eliminating the need for multiple emails. However, ...

Basecamp.. couldn't live without it.

What do you like best? Basecamp acts as my external brain. We use it to archive every project we have. It's great to be able to find things that we worked on years ago and be able to quickly pull up a thread with all details, files, etc. The search feature works great. Messages is what I use and like the most. Every message has a corresponding milestone that is assigned to a person. What do you dislike? I don't like that you can't create new milestones from the message screen. A lot of ...

My agency uses Basecamp as our project management tool.

What do you like best? I like being able to assign individuals to tasks, assign due dates and being able to see when tasks/comments/files were added or edited. What do you dislike? I HATE Basecamp 3. Basecamp 2 is awesome. But Basecamp 3 is confusing, it isn't user friendly, it is unorganized and it's hard nearly impossible to explain to our customers when we include them in on project. The ONLY feature Basecamp 3 has that I like is the ability to update a file rather than having ...

Basecamp Review

What do you like best? I like that it keeps me organized. The daily recap summary emails I receive each morning keep me on the ball. What do you dislike? It can be tough to navigate and find a specific project at times. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Staying organized and keeping projects in motion. It has kept all at our company accountable.

Using Basecamp on a daily Basis

What do you like best? Basecamp has allowed our company to organize a lot of information in a clear and concise manner. We can manage access between users, so all employees cannot see all the information. Our team loves the ability to customize the information that is stored, especially the text documents. What do you dislike? I wish that the search function was improved within the software. Occasionally I am left scrolling for information I am needing to find. What business ...

A bit quirky

What do you like best? So long as you have everyone on board, it does provide a solid solution to combine different practice groups into a singular forum. What do you dislike? The interface is a bit cumbersome and confusing at times. We often have to start from scratch due to confusion over the way the groups work, which costs some time. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Primarily, we utilize Basecamp to get our experts, ...

Awesome Project Management Tool

What do you like best? Easy to track projects and keep up with to-dos; assign tasks for members of team. I spend 90% of my day in basecamp and track all projects through the tool, from inception to completion. What do you dislike? I only wish it did more - I wish it could also be used as a time/budget tracking tool so that every aspect of a PM's job could be done in one platform. Recommendations to others considering the product I prefer Basecamp 2 over the first edition and ...
