Effective Product depending on your needs
What do you like best? What I like best is it is a fairly flexible program with a few plug-in selection services. I also like that it handles visual assets fairly well. It keeps project management very simple and is quick to start using. What do you dislike? What I dislike is that it maybe keeps project management a little to simple not as robust as many other project management systems. It doesn't foster communication within teams. I have found better free alternatives with more ...

Why does every company not use BaseCamp?
What do you like best? Collaborative and easy-to-use; makes file sharing a snap. What do you dislike? More companies choose their own systems due to security, which is a total waste of efforts. I only dislike that BaseCamp isn't more widely used! Recommendations to others considering the product Don't waste your time with other apps. Just get Basecamp! What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It was amazing for sharing files of any ...

Great tool for managing projects and staying organized
What do you like best? Easy to use, easy to see what everyone is working on and the ability to customize email notifications. What do you dislike? Once there are so many new to-do lists they start to congregate at the bottom of the page as plain text links. This can cause to-do's to be overlooked. Also, I wish that you could set a due date for the entire to-do list instead of the individual to-do's inside the list. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

Small group work with Basecamp
What do you like best? Basecamp is intuitive and approachable. What do you dislike? Can seem overwhelming to people who aren't comfortable with an online environment. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We have staff spread out across five locations and with all different schedules. Basecamp lets us keep project info in one place without it getting lost on a shared drive or in our email.

Basecamp is an effective Project Management tool for Small to Medium size projects
What do you like best? The interface is very intuitive. They also limit the functionality to "core" features you need to manage a project, and then does those things very well. The result is a short learning curve - which is important when trying to get buy in from all team members to actually use the program. What do you dislike? Not to contradict, but while I have an appreciation for the focus of the program, there are some areas that could use a few more features. For example, on ...

Good Collaboration Software
What do you like best? I like that Basecamp allows you to share discussions, documents, and project ideas across a company or organization quite easily. You can create different groups within your team, so that you can separate different teams or projects and control who is notified or has access to changes/additions within that group. What do you dislike? I do not like that there is no live chat option and that it is hard to track several different conversations that may be happening ...

Basecamp Review
What do you like best? Ease of adding tasks to a project I use primarily for remote project management on financial close, and it is very nice to have document images attached directly in BaseCamp. Ability to use @name and email members of the project is very helpful. What do you dislike? There really isn't much I dislike about BaseCamp. If we needed heavier lifting, I am not sure what features are available -- maybe it would still be great. Recommendations to others considering ...

Not every upgrade is a good one
What do you like best? Overall, it's a really use to use platform that improves the way you work together with you colleagues. What do you dislike? Basecamp tends to launch a lot of new features/layouts. And the last two haven't been an improvement. Recommendations to others considering the product Start with the free version and you will see if this works for you. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Before each teammember ...

Wouldn't pay for a pro account; decent free options
What do you like best? Centralized file repository; to do list; notify certain people per message; What do you dislike? Can't group discussions -- everything is a separate discussion. Recommendations to others considering the product Think about how those who will be using the product communicate best; we are heavy Slack users -which I think affects how much we like/dislike Basecamp (which doesn't seem as interactive and "open". What business problems are you solving with the ...
