Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

Great Project Management Software

What do you like best? To do lists, document sharing, app and desktop version. "What did you work on today" holds people accountable everyday for contributing. What do you dislike? I would really like a feature that would allow you to import excel spreadsheets with dates of to-dos. Google Calendar is capable of doing this. Recommendations to others considering the product Spend some time figuring out all the features and messing around with the program before turning your ...

Easy to use

What do you like best? I love that you can add only certain people to certain projects with BaseCamp. I really like the ease with which you can add projects and lists within the projects. What do you dislike? I haven't found anything that I dislike yet. :o What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? As with many businesses, we have multiple projects through out the year that require work from many different departments. Base Camp makes ...

Basecamp helps membership organization make large scale advocacy possible

What do you like best? Adaptability of the settings so I can receive or not receive notifications and emails as I want or need. I like being able to keep track of to do's, discussions, etc across a range of projects. What do you dislike? I can't change a to do to a discussion item and visa versa if i want to. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are engaged in state level advocacy across the country, this software has helped us ...

Great for Projects; Not for Chat

What do you like best? I like that it's really easy to group all of your projects together and set to-do lists & schedules for projects. What do you dislike? Basecamp captures a lot of activity but it isn't great to chatting. When you come back from a conference and you have some insights unless they apply to one project it's hard to decide where to share them. There still needs to be a place to share this type of information. Maybe another tool like Slack. Recommendations to others ...

Collaborative

What do you like best? I enjoyed the experience of being able to share files and collaborate with my colleagues all digitally. I also like the fact that we could edit information and organize projects effectively as a group without having to always meet together. What do you dislike? I disliked the interface and some of the structure of the links. Recommendations to others considering the product Definitely give it a try if you are trying to find a program for collaborating on ...

Simple Project Management

What do you like best? I like that it is very easy for clients and team members to pickup how to use, plus setup is super simple. What do you dislike? Basecamp is an easy way to work together

What do you like best? I like the way that that communication threads are set up. You can open a communication thread up per topic that you are discussing, add to them at any times (including documents, pictures etc. and get alerted via email as well. What do you dislike? There are no alerts when checkboxes are marked as completed on the To-Do Lists, so I do not feel as in the know about what items are being completed from the to do lists. There have occasionally been times where ...

Brings people closer

What do you like best? Great for collaborating with teams that are physically distant, and its priced right at around $20 which should be good for most people. What I like the most about Basecamp is the catch up button, which summarizes a days activity. This is good way to catch up on a project, if you aren't fully involved in it.Also there is the option to get add-ons at an additional cost. What do you dislike? There isn't much I dislike about Basecamp. Maybe advanced users find some ...

Almost there

What do you like best? I like that there is a place for everything, tasks, scheduled meetings, dead lines, files, to do. I am able to create a project and assign tasks to specific people, then get feedback from the others on the team in real time about how there are doing in the project of if they need anything. What do you dislike? It needs the ability to convert one thing to another, if we start Discussion that turns into multiple topics we need the ability to split it into multiple ...
