Great tool if everyone uses it properly!
What do you like best? I am a freelancer and Basecamp is widely used by many of my clients. I like that so many people are so familiar with the tool. This makes it easier for me to get up to speed with a project. I can go back and read old threads and there's a smaller learning curve when I start a new project. What do you dislike? Unfortunately, I find most people simply treat Basecamp like email. They start threads, then everyone just replies to those threads at they would an email ...

Thoroughly recommend this software to anyone working on multiple, multi-step campaigns or projects
What do you like best? I like that our remote workers and home offices were able to collaborate so intuitively in real-time, choose which projects were shared w/ which team members, and effectively manage tasks, deadlines, client needs. I enjoyed the playful interface. What do you dislike? This might have changed since I used BaseCamp but the tasks lists can get a little messy when using them for recurring tasks, maintenance tasks, etc. I'd love to see something especially for ...

Useful, But Somewhat Limited
What do you like best? Basecamp is very useful for sharing and organizing large quantities of documents among several people. What do you dislike? Unfortunately, if you need to move a document to another folder or delete it, you can only do so if you are either the administrator or the one who uploaded it yourself. So if somebody puts a document up in one folder and you need to move it to another, you're SOL. Recommendations to others considering the product You don't have to send ...

Good solution, some flaws
What do you like best? I like navigating my to-do list easily and managing projects, as well as receiving updates to my email easily and replying back through email or Basecamp. It's good to upload media and documents as you go. What do you dislike? It's not an entirely flexible or highly organizable or intuitive system. You can wind up mining long conversations and projects for certain references and pieces of projects, or lose messages. What business problems are you solving with ...

Great Collab Tool for Clients and Agencies
What do you like best? After using SO MANY other trial and error approaches to content / creative review... Basecamp slams a home run for this one. Innovative, web-based, can be accessed via mobile, web, from anywhere with an internet connection - it's about time Basecamp is being integrated into so many agencies. The more and more people I talk to that use it, the more and more positive experiences I hear. The ability to be able to communicate in a single space about a single piece of ...

Great for designers, not great for general project management
What do you like best? That everyone gets to see all the files uploaded onto Basecamp and comment on them. What do you dislike? There is no folder system, so it's always a task to go through individual files. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use it regularly for various projects. It's great for coordinating various people working on different tasks within the organization.
