Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

Project Management with Ease

What do you like best? The Calendar - with 26 events a year it's easy to keep all the details in one place and see each marketing / production plan visually. What do you dislike? The notes - I wish you could add additional notes to each existing note instead of starting over Recommendations to others considering the product utilize the calendar and email notifications when making changes What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...

Project Managment Made Easy

What do you like best? I'm a new user, and there are several features that have made working with a team from across the globe seamless. The first is the ability to pick and choose who receives communication. Simply uncheck a check box if someone on your team doesn't need to be included on the specific thread, however, they can still access the discussion if they would like. Basecamp helps with version control because you can see date/time stamps for when documents were uploaded. What ...

Team Collaboration Game Changer

What do you like best? The ease of use for my team to get set up and use. Easily respond to posts via email. What do you dislike? The calendar is lacking some vital features which has resulted in me using a different calendar software to properly manage my items. I also was disappointed in the newest version, Basecamp 3. We did a test drive of it but ended up reverting back to version 2. I feel they removed some of the core functionality we needed. Recommendations to others ...

Keeping us connected.

What do you like best? I appreciate the collaborative aspect of Basecamp. I've been able to work on projects across the company with team members in other departments without any hiccups. This makes my job easier, and helps my maximize my time. What do you dislike? There is no aspect of my experience with Basecamp that I wish were different. It has been an easy product to learn and even easier to use. I mean, if there was a way to use lots of GIFs to communicate, that would only make ...

Great platform, easy and clean

What do you like best? Not a lot of bells and whistles to weed through, projects are easily created and sorted What do you dislike? The app leaves something to be desired, you can't take a picture from within the app What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It allows the office and techs in the field to be on the same page

BaseCamp Review in Neuroscience Research

What do you like best? I like the targeted outgoing email communication to ensure project participation and accountability. This seems to help keep the project timeline on target. What do you dislike? The system seems to complicate the overall project plan. Using an excel spreadsheet is easy to use for implementation of a basic plan and BaseCamp adds a level of complexity. You also need to make sure you assign the targeted team member, or by default everyone will receive the emails ...

Basecamp as a personal and team to-do list / agendas

What do you like best? It is a great place for living/adaptable agendas. We've also heavily used it for specific to-do lists, and for project to-do list that can be archived and pulled back out for similar projects. What do you dislike? The messaging feature did not seem to benefit our company at the moment. And the document uploading is somewhat helpful, but we tend to avoid it. It would be great if the calendar integrated with Outlook or Google Calendar - honestly we haven't explored ...

Good for larger projects...

What do you like best? This is good for keeping track of big, long term projects. I like that you can keep track of due dates and there is a record of who says what when. What do you dislike? Sometimes it is hard to follow where the conversation left off. Projects could be fragmented. I think this is exactly why it is important to have a set structure for all of your projects. Recommendations to others considering the product Make sure to set up institution-wide structuring for ...

Organizing the Mess

What do you like best? I work at a marketing agency and we use Basecamp every day multiple times a day to manage internal and client projects. I don't know how'd we function without Basecamp. I can get to what is assigned to me easily, communicate with other team members, and even find projects from 4 years ago. I'd highly highly recommend it. What do you dislike? I don't personally have a complaint but my agency has been looking for another project management solution that connects ...

Best Option for Inter-Company Teams, Whether Across Town Or Across The World

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? We have deployed Basecamp with our partners and our clients and its just works well. The system provides us with a single location for all types of commuications, which means I no longer have to dig through messages or initiate a search to find the item I require. What aspects are problematic or could work better? I spent a significant amount of time figuring out how to share the posts I made to specific sets of people. I wish ...
