Basecamp pros and cons

  • Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.

  • Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.

  • Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.

  • Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.

Basecamp helps me stay on task

What do you like best? It is easy to use and more intuitive than Asana. It is a great place to store resources, docs and files for our team. What do you dislike? It's really hard to know when one person's job is finished and you can start your tasks. Asana did a much better job of linking projects to each person's role. Recommendations to others considering the product It's definitely worth it! What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Basecamp for Project Management

What do you like best? I really like the user interface and the ease of use. The set up was smooth and collaborating with team mates was a breeze What do you dislike? There isn't really anything I dislike about the product. It works as advertised and it has all the features needed to manage our projects and tasks What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use basecamp to collaborate, share, and manage projects in our department. We ...

I have been using basecamp for communication for my past project and it was really good.

What do you like best? I like the concepts of projects best and also the use of websockets was very good. What do you dislike? If you're a one person business, the cost might be too much for you. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I have been using basecamp for project management and it has been really helpful in communication and updates about the projects.

Basecamp is great for office organization

What do you like best? Being able to organize my projects and assign tasks to individuals on my team as well as import all the documents and comments for projects right in the platform. What do you dislike? There isn't a lot that I don't like about basecamp. I was disappointed that there was not a calendar feature and basecamp rolled that out this summer. Recommendations to others considering the product If you are looking for a platform to keep your office in sync, this is easy to ...

Initial experience with Basecamp

What do you like best? The functions that are included in Basecamp. It covers almost everything that's needed for teams to collaborate, which makes cross team interaction a lot more efficient in general. The timeline with each party's deliverable was especially helpful. What do you dislike? The interface seems a bit animated with a not-so-professional look. however, the last time I used it was around 6 months ago, so i can't confirm if the interface has been changed or updated. ...

Excellent Project Management

What do you like best? I like how everything is stored in one place. I also like how easy it is to close out to-dos, start lists, or loop in other people who need to be involved in the project. The overall best part to me about Basecamp is that we can see what we have not done yet and what we have in the future. Often times it's easy to forget which tasks you told yourself you will handl enext, but with Basecamp, I'm able to see that layed out for me. What do you dislike? I dislike ...

Efficient Project Management

What do you like best? I like that Basecamp features a full suite of tools, custom notifications, and flexibility, while allowing project managers to oversee all areas of a given project. For multi-generational teams it is nice as well, the basecamp interface is easy enough to use and customize, while it can also be updated through emails, making it easier for team members who work primarily through their inbox. What do you dislike? The chat feature in Basecamp is a bit primitive - if ...

Well Organized

What do you like best? It worked well for doing remote work or managing part time staff and interns. Great way to keep a running list of tasks organized by project. What do you dislike? Wish there was more room for notes in the Calendar section. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Helped with remote work and team management.

Useful but could have more features

What do you like best? It's great to keep team projects all in one place. Everything displays on a timeline, and you can divvy up teams granting access to specific projects. What do you dislike? I don't so much care for the way images/design work is shared. You can't make notations or comments directly on designed materials. Wrike has the function to do that and it's great, but now we find our team using 2 different programs instead of just one. Recommendations to others considering ...

We used Basecamp with our vendor developing our new website.

What do you like best? It tracks everyone, documents it, notified everyone, and let;s you manage it by who is responsible to resolve it and when it is resolved. You also attach files to each issue. It was a nice communication tool. We had almost 1,000 items that we worked through with the program. What do you dislike? It did pretty much everything we needed. Recommendations to others considering the product Great tool to use for a major project with multiple people involved. What ...
