Basecamp pros and cons
Simple, user-friendly interface that is intuitive even for beginners, making it easy for teams to adopt and use efficiently.
Centralizes all project information, including documents, tasks, and communications, enabling seamless collaboration and organization.
Strong team collaboration tools, including real-time communication, task assignments, and notifications to keep everyone aligned.
Highly effective for remote and hybrid teams, allowing easy management of tasks and communication across distances.
Lacks robust customization options for advanced users, particularly in file storage and integrations, which can limit flexibility.
Minimalist feature set may lack advanced capabilities like complex reporting or kanban customization that power users might expect.

Project management for creatives
What do you like best? I like the flexibility of using it but it can create enough structure for others to follow. I also like the smooth user interface. What do you dislike? There’s nothing in particular that comes in mind. Recommendations to others considering the product Use it how you need it to! What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It manages different types of projects at the same time. Creates visibility for all team ...

Basecamp keeps everyone on task for your timeline
What do you like best? Basecamp not only keeps everyone on the same page - it also gives everyone the same timelines at these inevitably change. It's a one stop shop for task and project management that everyone on your team can access remotely. It's incredibly helpful! What do you dislike? The notifications can become overwhelming and redundant if you are not careful in the way you set them up. Getting an email or a mobile pop up every time someone makes a comment is excessive, but it ...

Basecamp is awesome!
What do you like best? It's simplicity and the fact that they actually listen to feedback and make changes based on responses. What do you dislike? I do wish that there was a better "client side"; something in between Basecamp 2 and Basecamp 3. The current email portal is not enough information for many of our clients. They want something they can log into and see. I do like that we have the ability to keep notes on our side that the client's can't see. But I wish there was a portal ...

Not perfect but better than other project management software I have used.
What do you like best? I like that it's set up bulletin-board style; that organization is great for visual people, like designers. I like the commenting system. I like the "to-do" lists. It's easy to use. What do you dislike? It can be very buggy. Sometimes certain functions don't work and typing in comments isn't always as easy as it should be. I'd also like to have an "assign to" field in addition to "keep these people in the loop" field. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Organized, Intiuitive & Irreplaceable
What do you like best? Basecamp keeps projects, timelines and departments in check. We love the ability to upload files for review, reassign tasks, invite outside users to contribute and keep everything organized. It’s an extremely intuitive tool for us to use and has proven itself to be irreplaceable compared to similar products we’ve tried What do you dislike? We would love to be able to have version control for different files - that would be a great feature to have Recommendations ...

Great for tracking drafts of multiple pieces of collateral for multiple complex projects
What do you like best? Easy to add users, easy to use, good customer service. This has helped us eliminate all the back-and-forth comments over email by bringing it all into one Basecamp project. When we have one event that requires multiple print/digital pieces, we see all the comments, revisions, drafts in one place. We also use Basecamp to track on steps in a newsletter and on our blog content. What do you dislike? I would like a quicker way to see when the ball is in my court. ...

Basecamp
What do you like best? We used this several years ago to exchange files and comments with our ad agency and it was super easy and helpful to share creative work using Basecamp. What do you dislike? The main factor in us not continuing with Basecamp was our Security department chose a different software and locked us down from using others. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We used to share files with our ad agency this way. It ...

Tool for collaborations.
What do you like best? Great tool for collaborations, just a bit lacking on the features side of things. Used it for certain web projects that have went well due to its simple file storage capabilities. What do you dislike? Difficult to manage larger projects, but still can be done. Features are a bit lackluster and not a great deal for the buck. Recommendations to others considering the product Manage small projects to avoid inconveniences. What business problems are you ...
