Backblaze is an affordable cloud backup service built for individual users and small teams who need automatic, hands-off file protection. The core strength is its unlimited storage capacity at a fixed annual price—no per-gigabyte overage charges. Automatic backups run continuously in the background, and files are encrypted with a private key you control. File ...Read more

Helpful, simple and effective system

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Setting up BackBlaze is very simple, it allows me to select drives and files. I love the control panel feature, it provides me with information of how much I have backed up and it provides me with assurance that my files are save. I can keep private key encryption on the uploaded files. It doesn’t have lot of costs for thumb drives and hard drives and it has simple download and restore system. It allows me to do full restore quickly. ...

Not going well

Not going well. At first just too slow. I have the fastest internet Xfinity provides and still was backing up just a few gig per day. (I have 4.8T of data so that wasn't going to be ok). Upgrade yesterday. So excited. Woke up this morning and my hard drive had been "ejected" during my sleep so nothing backed up. Reconnected and let it run all day. Came home to a dark screen frozen MacBook Pro. Had to do a reboot and saw Backblaze had only backed up 87 MB before downing my entire computer. ...

Great cloud storage solution

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? BackBlaze is great product for backing up to a cloud that I currently use to back up image files and SQL Databasles from servers. It has easy interface and it allows me to sync via NAS Synology Rackstation where my local backups reside. It’s great when is set as a task to a backup directly to this cloud. What aspects are problematic or could work better? When I have large size folder the speed is slow, and what concerns me is the ...

Extremely cheap cloud storage

Extremely cheap cloud storage. That's it. Of course you have to have some technical ability but I've never found a cheaper solution than their B2 cloud storage.

I was disappointed how clunky to restore

I was disappointed how clunky it is to restore from backup. download a Zip? really? even for a small restore that is a ton of data and time. then the Zip doesn't come down clean and all Backblaze says is to blame the Zip utility. No help.

compatible tool

I like that Backblaze is a compatible backup tool and maybe every user has an opinion whatever it was positive or negative, but tons of services and tools are there on the market, you can go with Syncthing,Gs Richcopy360, Carbonite, or whatever you like but Backblaze still one the best

Reliable, easy-to-use tool

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Backblaze is a very helpful but not demanding tool. The only thing I did was set up the system and afterward left it to do its work, which is to keep my file safe. It runs seamlessly in the background, does not use numerous system resources, and is quick to backup. This tool also became my savior when I accidentally deleted important files. I was able to recover them easily. Also, the ability to access all my files anytime and ...

Great backup system & customer service

Firstly, I have no affiliation with Backblaze other than I have used their software solution for a few years (since Mozyhome and Crashplan changed their offering and costs). I am based in the UK and have just over 10TB backed up across a number of disks (internal and external). A couple of weeks ago, I had a catastrophic computer failure so I needed to restore all my data (fortunately I always expect the worst so had multiple physical backups) - but I thought it would be a good time to test ...

I agree this product IS garbage

I agree this product IS garbage. I have not been backed up for several weeks. I have tried to get them to help me with no success. I have asked for my money back. We will see what happens. There is a good reason why 66% of all reviews rate this product as terrible.

this product is garbage

this product is garbage. i paid this company for years and when it came time to download files that i backed up on their system, most of what was downloaded was corrupted. i lost hundreds of photos, memories and work files because of this. you get what you pay for. when i complained, they claimed it was a unzip issue and refused to refund me. terrible company and service.
