"Great audio editing software for general use"

What do you like best about Audacity? the price is obviously what got me into using it but it's just great at everything it's supposed to do. from triming audi to erasing noise to engineering sound effects it leaves almost nothing to be desired. What do you dislike about Audacity? i wish it had some easy integration for software synths so i could use it as my only software for making dark ambient music. also it doesn't have the widest file compatibility and often needs things transcoded ...
