"Long-Time User - Enjoys Audacity Compared to Other Programs"

What do you like best about Audacity? I like the functions that Audacity offers to manipulate audio files. We have other audio programs as part of our Creative Cloud subscription, but for what I do, I've always felt comfortable with Audacity. It's really straightforward and doesn't overwhelm me like other programs. What do you dislike about Audacity? Some features that one may find in another, more robust program may be lacking in Audacity. For example, some of the effects or manipulation ...

"For quick audio editing and splicing. "

What do you like best about Audacity? I like the fact that Audacity does not hide what it is. It does not try to make it seem like it does a million things that it does not. What do you dislike about Audacity? The ease of use and layout of the software could be better (could be easier on the eyes) . Recommendations to others considering Audacity: Make sure you understand that the application is free so that is where you should set your expectations. What problems is Audacity solving and how ...

"Still the best free audio editing program out there!"

What do you like best about Audacity? Audacity has a clean interface with easy-to-use controls. It is incredibly powerful for a free product. I use it often to clean up audio recordings, splice together multiple samples, and manipulate audio for projects What do you dislike about Audacity? The UI is clean, but a bit dated. It could use a visual update, as well as some minor UI tweaks. There are plenty of tutorials online, but a larger help file and documentation would be ...

"One of the best free utilities out there"

What do you like best about Audacity? An amazingly stable and capable editor given the price tag. It has never crashed on me, and applying changes to files is fast. There are definitely more feature rich product options for those needing advanced editing, but entry costs for studio quality software is typically high. What do you dislike about Audacity? The interface is a little dated at this point since it has not changed in a very long time. This is actually a bonus in terms of usability, ...

"Great audio editing for the professional or the novice"

What do you like best about Audacity? The ease of use with audacity is the best thing. I've done audio editing for years and when I need a simple, free, and quick solution for a podcast I was working on, Audacity fit the bill. It has its limitations if you know how to edit audio, but if you're new to it, it's perfect. What do you dislike about Audacity? It has a lack of intuitiveness and hotkeys. I use video and photo editing software daily and am use to hotkeys and platforms designed for ...

"Free Audio Editing with No Limitations"

What do you like best about Audacity? A totally free program that doesn't have any pesky limitations. It's a powerful tool that I use to help create all of my videos! What do you dislike about Audacity? Honestly, I don't really have a lot of complaints (if any) about Audacity. It's just that good! Recommendations to others considering Audacity: There's a bit of a learning curve when you first start using the program, but there are so many video tutorials on YouTube that will easily help to ...

"Provides a professional product for an amateur producer"

What do you like best about Audacity? I could use the GUI to find what I needed to do in spite of my own great ignorance of audio recording software. There were many audio editing filter features I would have liked to have known more about, but without easy documentation and any need for anything beyond basic editing I did not explore these features. However, I suspect I might have used some if I had known how they would benefit me. What do you dislike about Audacity? I would have liked ...

"The audacity of Audacity"

What do you like best about Audacity? The best feature in audacity is its ability to clip and edit upon record. This function for sure makes it easy to capture a snippet of sound from a recording. What do you dislike about Audacity? The worst function in audacity is the analyze plugin features. These require the right sound clip to render the best result. If you mix 2 tracks that don't mesh then analyze plug in feature will not capture the best quality result. Recommendations to others ...
