Asana pros and cons

  • Simple and intuitive interface, enabling easy adoption and efficiency for both personal and professional use.

  • Excellent task and project management features such as timelines, recurring tasks, subtasks, and milestones, allowing structured workflows.

  • Great for team collaboration, with features like comments, file attachments, and real-time updates enhancing communication.

  • Highly versatile with customizable workflows, task prioritization options, and board/list views for varying user needs.

"Project management software with just the right amount of gamification!"

What do you like best about Asana? The interface is beautiful and the gamified tweaks, like celebrations after completing tasks, make Asana fun to use. A fun user experience is the single most important factor in long-term use, in my opinion. I also love that Asana constantly solicits user feedback via platforms like the Asana Forum. What do you dislike about Asana? Some of the integrations for essential functions need work. For example, integrations to Google Calendar are one-way, and ...

"task up your life"

What do you like best about Asana? tons of room for information, very clear what's in there and what's not and great tool for communication between teams What do you dislike about Asana? Requires human effort to remember to use it and make it a habit, doesn't come naturally to some people, so not sure what's missing that could fix that What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you? Ability to task work and share information is vital for keeping it out of slack or email where ...

"Asana Rocks!"

What do you like best about Asana? I love Asana for keeping track of my work and ensuring projects are on-track. It's so helpful to have an interactive, collaborative "to-do list" so my mind can focus on the work it needs to and not on "Who's doing what?" "What info do I still need to share?" "Did I send this for approval?!" What do you dislike about Asana? Honestly, I love almost everything about Asana. One of my big wishes would be the ability to rename the default fields. Example: change ...

"Vital to our non-profit"

What do you like best about Asana? I like the transparency and flexibility in organizing work streams and collaborations. What do you dislike about Asana? I find the reporting features, including exporting, to be lacking. I would also like the ability to sort by "Start Date" in List view. What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you? It's transforming the way teams think about group collaboration and the documentation of tasks (and level of task granularity).

"The Task Management App that strikes functionality & simplicity"

What do you like best about Asana? I love Asana because it's easy to use. Such a relieve to onboard new users in my team to use the app. Beside that, we have been using it since 2018 and haven't noticed any slow down in loading all the tasks! What do you dislike about Asana? The free features keep decreasing. I understand this from the business point of view, but some features should have been in the free tier instead of paid one. Also, the subscription is a bit steep if you're not doing ...

"Asana is the glue that holds all of our projects together"

What do you like best about Asana? The automations and integrations - and the fact that there is continuous progress on feature releases and updates! What do you dislike about Asana? It seems like whenever a feature is released, there is a partial or major platform outage. What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you? Asana is robust enough to make it easy for all teams to adopt its usage. As a result, we are able to keep all of our projects in one place which makes ...

"Finally a solution we can customize to our needs."

What do you like best about Asana? The ability to customize the structure from the organizational standpoint all the way down to each task. What do you dislike about Asana? The initial learning curve can be steep, but the payoff is rewarding if you're able to dedicate the time. What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you? Keeping our team organized, especially when we went fully remote. We're able to keep all the information organized and in one place.

"One of the best PM tools out there"

What do you like best about Asana? Asana is a centralized hub for storing project information. Instead of having separate spreadsheets, resourcing software and communications channels, Asana allows me to assign, track and communicate with stakeholders all in one place while also sending update notifications to Slack and Email. What do you dislike about Asana? Asana can be a bit overwhelming at first for those not used to such a comprehensive tool, but the onboarding video series is a great ...

"Asana organizes tasks for team in a complete and easy to use way"

What do you like best about Asana? The amount of features and filtering possible make it easy to make sure tasks are organized, on track, and going in the right direction. Collaboration is so easy when a team is using Asana in a consistent manner. What do you dislike about Asana? Sometimes, everyone uses Asana in different ways. This makes it hard to stay in sync and keep everyone on the same page. I'd love to see more functionality with Rules across projects, more ways to report on work, ...

"Asana is the best thing to happen to marketers!"

What do you like best about Asana? As someone who works in a very collaborative role in Marketing - Asana is absolutely invaluable to me. The time that I previously would have spent tracking down updates can now be spent doing the actual work of my role! What do you dislike about Asana? The biggest downside is that not everyone on my team is provisioned to use Asana or is not savvy with the platform. With a larger team and frequently added members it can be hard to keep up! What problems is ...
