Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Before shortlisting Amplitude, verify that your team can handle the learning curve for advanced features. While the interface is clean, creating complex custom reports requires SQL knowledge or significant time investment in the documentation. Check whether your data volume fits Amplitude's pricing model—costs scale with tracked events, not users, so high-traffic ...Read more

Amplitude is easy to use and the learning curve is not that steep.

What do you like best? I am a developer, Analytics is not my strong side. I required minimal training for this and now I can create my own dashboards for every new feature I deploy. It's great getting immediate feedback on what the App's users are doing. The unique users chart mixed with the event tracking is what we use for every feature. What do you dislike? I wish we could add a description to the events. Sometimes the name of the event is not clear enough to know the source or the ...

Must-have tool for PMs, Marketing, and Growth

What do you like best? It's incredibly powerful and doesn't require any knowledge of SQL. There's deep insights into events, retention rates, cohort and A/B analyses, and more. The team at Amplitude are former PMs and marketers, and you can see their intent to expose insights and outcomes in the product. It's super easy to use. What do you dislike? Not much really, it's the best tool in the biz. Recommendations to others considering the product: Make sure you cleanly name ...

Take your behavioral analytics to the next level

What do you like best? Ease of use to quickly and efficiently visualize key data points and cohorts without the SQL experience or ad hoc support from our internal data team. What do you dislike? We have had some issues with implementation, but after we made it through these issues it was easy going with plenty of support from the Amplitude team. Recommendations to others considering the product: Go into implementation and set up with a plan that includes all stake holders from ...

Amplitude = Efficiency!

What do you like best? Amplitude makes getting super quick insights on user behaviors so easy! I can be more confident in making product decisions and prioritizing bugs. What do you dislike? The need to involve external teams and engineering resources to develop new events and/or properties. It becomes challenging to prioritize the dev work amongst all the other features we are working on. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Making ...

Great tool for non-technical users, enables self serve analytics at scale

What do you like best? It's easy to use the tool, no special training is required and anyone can use it, even if they have no experience in analytics. It helps to generate insights at scale and promotes data democratization. In addition, the innovation pace from Amplitude is great, features are released on a regular basis What do you dislike? It's hard to manage the data at scale, it's hard to find the events, attributes, and cohort which are not used and delete them proactively on ...

One of the best tools out there

What do you like best? Funnel analysis and event segmentation are both very useful What do you dislike? The value of such tool is directly dependent on the quality of your instrumentation. Keep that in mind! Recommendations to others considering the product: Instrumentation quality is key. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Mostly, decentralize analytics resources to empower more people to consume the data they need.

Fast to Insights

What do you like best? Once deployed, the speed at which teams can self-discover insights to make fast business decisions. What do you dislike? Amplitude is only as good as its deployment and event taxonomy that you as a company employ. There is a lot of overhead to "finally get value" and showcase that value to your executive teams. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The speed in which Product Managers can discover, learn, and ...

Good software, a bit clunky sometimes

What do you like best? Good for visualizing flows in UX and understanding impact of experiments. What do you dislike? Hard to connect these flows to over-arching business objectives/ KPIs. Recommendations to others considering the product: make sure it solves your use-cases specifically. It is not one-size fits all. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Understanding how users are behaving inside our Apps and understanding how our ...

A good tool for event-based data

What do you like best? The visualizations are really nice - easy to read. What do you dislike? It's not very intuitive to learn - knowing which types of visuals to use. Recommendations to others considering the product: Dive into the data integrations to really understand the full power of the tool. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Funnel conversion for marketing campaigns.

Amplitude helping us make faster decisions and take the guess work out of matching users to devices

What do you like best? It’s super easy to drag and drop and they have all the key event tracking charts like funnels and flows. Also their matching algo for aggregating the multiple devices in to one user What do you dislike? Sometimes it’s difficult to make cohorts relative to the same data in SQL What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We’re trying to optimize our signup funnel and this easily shows the event funnel and if segments are ...
