What do you like best? The Aloha POS system is easy for Staff to learn and access. Employee turnover in our industry can be high, and having a reliable and easy-to-use system is key to our business. What do you dislike? Our system requires a customer PIN to be entered (approximately one in every 40 transactions), which is difficult because we have to ask the customer to leave their table and walk to the POS station during their dining experience. "Powerful but Expensive"
What do you like best? It can pretty much do anything, it just might need some expensive addons to get it done. Since this is a legacy system, pretty much all 3rd party software providers have integrations with aloha. What do you dislike? Expensive. Does not have a virtual POS to use in the office; manager must go out to the floor and complete transactions from a terminal. "Aloha POS for Restaurant and Brewery"
What do you like best? Very easy to use system. No problem getting new hires up to speed on how to ring in beer/food purchases and tour tickets. What do you dislike? Some of the reporting features are not great. But we added INSIGHT last year and I'm sure if we spent the time digging in there, we'd be able to get everything we need. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Helps our accounting group keep track of sales in Beer Hall.

What do you like best? Can handle the complexity of the business -- especially the back end stuff and the labor hours side of the business. What do you dislike? "It's good, a workhorse."
What do you like best? easy for servers to use if programmed correctly What do you dislike? a little hard to program new items and submenus Recommendations to others considering the product: I feel stuck in an older tech platform. Like it to be inexpensive to have better tech platform What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? use it for all ordering in our full-service restaurant

"Good platform as long as you don't mess with it."
What do you like best? Almost unlimited customization, which is not always a good thing. What do you dislike? Same answer as above. We have 50 locations on this POS and all are updated on different schedules. I realize this is not a fault of Aloha/NCR, but it shows how easily it is to destabilize the platform as we have stores down hard every week. "Good, But..."
What do you like best? Like the ease of use & it is user friendly. What do you dislike? Customer service/support. We pay for 24/7 help desk support & often times we are left leaving a message & waiting for someone to call us back. With the NCR stored value support it is often time 10-24 hours before we actually get support. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It is a simple system for servers to use. Tracking sales/customer counts

"Complicated and no customization"
What do you like best? I like how detailed some of the reports are and what you are able to do with the system What do you dislike? I HATE that we cant customize any reports and that when we need anything we have to start at level 1, who 99.9% of the time know less that I do about the Aloha system at this point and almost always have to escalate me to level 2. What do you like best? I appreciate all the plug ins and extras you can have that work with Aloha. They are one of the biggest so when you need something - i.e. virtual gift card , you have the ability to pick from different third party options. What do you dislike? Enterprise is so intense.
