Easy tool to build search engines

What do you like best? With Algolia, I could build an optimized search engine to look for real estates with many filters involved. What do you dislike? The learning curve is steep... it was difficult to learn the internals of InstantSearch Recommendations to others considering the product: Learn about InstantSearch What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We provide an Algolia search engine to our clients, so they can look for ...

Algolia in La Haus

What do you like best? - The way you can easily setup Algolia, populate an index and start doing mockups with instantsearch. - A lot of SDKs allow to choose the approach that better suits your use case. - Not needing to spend a lot of time and money in infrastructure or software architecture. What do you dislike? - Analytics are a tricky thing to do and don't work right out of the box. - Developer documentation isn't 100% complete and synced across sources so some things ...

Documentation is better now but it could be better Recommendations to others considering the product: Better documentation will help What problems are you solving with the product? Algolia is the end-all be-all for search

What do you like best? Algolia gives me a far better search product than one I could engineer myself, and I had it up and running in a day. What do you dislike? The terminology they use in the dashboard can be confusing at first. Luckily, I spend very little time in the dashboard, so it isn't a major issue. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you're considering building your own custom in-house search solution, don't even bother unless you're enterprise ...

Great Search, tricky details

What do you like best? I love the fact that,at its premise, it's simply fast search over small JSON payloads. What do you dislike? Getting some of the finer details to work can be really tricky. The size limitations is a big sticking point, and breaking up larger objects into a single entity feels like something that should be managed within the SDK itself. Recommendations to others considering the product: It's a great product - make sure you pay close attention to the ...

Best managed search service we've found

What do you like best? Performance! It's where Algolia shines, they can deliver p99 < 10ms response times, the search experience feels instant, making a huge difference for our customers. They have many available SDKs for all sorts of clients which makes it very easy to integrate with web and mobile apps. Another great feature is the geo-replication where you can deploy your data to more datacenters and make the search faster all over the world, be aware that this cost extra ...

Great product, great support.

What do you like best? Product perfectly designed and awesome support team - very reactive and so efficient. What do you dislike? Product is still quite technical to implement, but is very well made. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I wanted a search engine for the documentation of my open source software. I was perfect to manage search on different version of the documentation.

Incredibly fast search with great enterprise options

What do you like best? Incredibly fast search; fantastic developer support and documentation; some really great out of the box options as well What do you dislike? Non tech users may have trouble customizing themselves without dev help beyond basic settings if they use a plug and play app (of which there are many for Algolia -- they work great and are well documented, but someone wanting to do a lot of customizations themselves without technical know how may require a developer). ...

Best search system out there

What do you like best? It's hosted, flexible, and scales very well. It's what ElasticSearch should have been. You can throw pretty much whatever data you'd want to at it, and figure out the indexing later. Facets make searching very slick, and the fact that it's hosted means I simply don't need to worry about Indexing. Anyone who doesn't use Algolia is just living in the past. What do you dislike? It can get expensive, but still not as expensive as running OS software on AWS. ...

Algolia is fast and it works!

What do you like best? Search results are incredibly fast. Setup was fairly straight forward and didn't take very long. The re-indexing speed is also very good. Pricing is fair, overall its a pretty damn impressive service and I'm looking forward to implementing it on other projects in the future. What do you dislike? As with anything new there's terminology which can be a little bit confusing at first. The documentation took a few reads until the information and processes stuck ...
