lots of room for improvement

On top of an ugly user interface, the software is simply lacking in features that would be helpful in an elementary school setting. There's a disappointing lack in customizability.

ALEX Review

While Alexandria is simple to use, it feels a bit dated. I have recently previewed other systems (Insignia) and like the contemporary look and feel of their product. Some of the ALEX searches can be clunky for children and while you have recently tried to make reports easier, in essence they are more convoluted. I still like the product but seeing what is out there makes me want more.

Alexandria

This software is workable, if it works right. Many times we have had the server drop and it is not our internet service. It does not cross reference right. It is an okay software for the price.

Alexandria Version 7

I believe Alexandria Version 7 has been just ok. I worked with the older version and the switch to the web was a little painful regarding district changes and what our IT department had to do to get up and running at the end of last school year. There have been little things that are irritating along the way-the simple things that we have had to call about. The technicians are great and helpful most of the time which is nice

Struggling

Having lots of problems with the new version. Instead of making it easier, it is now very difficult to work with.

Forced to use Alexandria Labels

So far my biggest complaint is being forced to buy Alexandria's spine labels for call numbers. We'd used another brand of labels forever, but with Alexandria's reports, they only come out in a certain size to match their products. And you can't even export the reports to a PDF and mail merge it into a different label format (like for Avery labels). Alexandria's labels were also expensive. I've also had trouble with call numbers not updating in the reports once I change them in the Item ...

I don't like the reports options.

I need more detailed reports then what I am able to get on Alexandria. I want to be able to get a monthly circulation and have it detailed out by cat on one report but as it is I have to go in and print multiply reports in order to do this. I like to see if what is checked out is children's, fiction, nonfiction, dvd, mag, etc... and not able to do this all in one report.

Alexandria

Great software! It has been very sluggish since we went to being hosted on the cloud. I have had problems with scanning the books faster than the software keeps up with and it results in books not getting checked in or out properly.

Long time user dealing with frustrations

We upgraded to version 7 last winter. The librarian side of the system didn't change very much. The changes on the patron side changed a lot and truthfully not for the better. There are many searches users could previously do that are no longer available. I'm hoping improvements continue on a timely basis. Suzette Kragenbrink

Search

I like most of Alexandria. I do wish that using just the search bar, and not having to choose other terms, a simple search (for example "apples") would not include a multitude of books that have nothing to do with the topic.
