Having had to close about 20 nags from…
Having had to close about 20 nags from Acronis this last week I am finally sitting down to write another scathing review of Acronis' business practices. They sell a "Perpetual License" and then nag their customers to buy another this or that. It is ridiculous! Hey Acronis, try looking up the word "Perpetual". "Lasting or destined to last forever, eternal; never ending or ceasing. This is from the Oxford English Dictioncary." People do not have the time for your constant instrusions into ...

Acronis used to be good
I've used Acronis to backup computers when I was in the IT field several years ago thinking it would do a better job of backing up my systems than a Windows backup. Never had to restore anything and looking back, I'm glad I didn't have to. A few years ago, I replaced my HDD with a SSD and trial version Acronis came with it so I used it to clone the SSD. Everything was fine except that I didn't have any onboard sound and Windows wouldn't install the sound drivers so I assumed that the ...

I've decided that EVERY TIME I have to…
I've decided that EVERY TIME I have to click to close Acronis' NAG to upgrade my "perpetual" license to a new "perpetual license" I would take the opportunity to give Acronis a ONE-STAR rating. It is such a pain to have to close this NAG on every licensed computer, everyday! Perhaps Acronis will provide a fix for their software so that this nag does not appear everyday on my computers. Further, Acronis should look up the word "perpetual". When I do, the first definition is: never ending ...

I rely on Acronis Cyber Protect Home…
I rely on Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office to keep all my work computers backed up. It takes a really long time to do the first backup if you have an ISP like I do which is Spectrum. The upload speed is very slow, typical for cable Internet, so be patient. This also becomes a factor if you install new software or save a new bunch of photos, music, or videos on the PC you're keeping backed up. I keep hoping Google or ATT fiber will get to my house so I'll have a fast symmetrical service. ...

As a backup program it is okay
Overall, I'm happy with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office when it is working as expected. I am doing a scheduled weekly Incremental Image backup to a Synology NAS on my local network. Approximately 2 out of 3 weeks it works as expected and on the other week it has some sort of "connection" error with my NAS. If I start the backup manually after noticing the missed backup, it works just fine. Acronis support has been courteous and have tried to isolate the problem but they have been ...
