It took a couple of minutes — the generation sat as “pending” before finishing — and came back with a genuine card-based deck, an AI-generated background image it chose on its own, and a headline pulled straight from our input text. The pitch: turn raw written content into a polished, card-based presentation in seconds, with brand-matched templates, no-code editing, live-presentation delivery, and analytics on how a shared deck gets viewed.

What we actually saw

1. Text-to-deck generation

What we did: Submitted a real ~110-word paragraph about Spotsaas (catalog size, SpotScore, Buyer Intel) as the entire input, with no additional formatting or slide breaks.

What happened: Gamma didn’t just reflow the paragraph onto a slide — it condensed it, pulled out the “2 million buyers” stat as a supporting line, generated a headline, and built an AI-generated background image (a dark, abstract dashboard/data-visualization image) matched to the “software platform” subject matter, without being told what kind of image to use.

Verdict: Genuine text-to-deck transformation, not just a template with your words pasted in.

2. Turnaround time

What we did: Watched the generation status rather than assuming it finished instantly.

What happened: The request returned a “pending” status first; the deck wasn’t ready on the first check and needed a follow-up status check before it completed.

Verdict: Not instant — budget a couple of minutes, not seconds, for a real generation.

3. Credit cost

What we did: Checked the workspace’s credit balance before and after.
